全国の小・中学生の学力水準を把握するために、文部科学省・国立教育政策研究所によって行われる全国学力・学習状況調査は、「全国学力テスト」ともいわれ、毎年4月に小学6年生と中学3年生を対象に実施されている。

令和3年度（2021年度）実施の同テストの小学生・算数で出題された「問題4（2）」の「8人に、4リットルのジュースを等しく分けます。1人分は何リットルですか。求める式と答えを書きましょう。」の答えは「0.5または2分の1」となるが、「2」と解答した児童が36.0％、約半数が誤答という結果となった。
