漁船から乗組員20人全員を救出した、静岡県焼津市のマグロ漁船の乗組員に、海上保安庁長官から感謝状が贈られました。

17日、海上保安庁長官の感謝状が贈られたのは、焼津市の遠洋マグロ漁船「第15福積丸」の乗組員です。

映像は5月にオーストラリア沖で撮影されたインドネシアの漁船です。

船尾は水没し乗組員十数人が取り残されています。

乗組員たちは大しけの中、沈没しかけた漁船で救助を待っていました。

この危機的な状況から全員を無事救出したのが、焼津市の遠洋マグロ漁船「第15福積丸」でした。

オーストラリア西岸沖でマグロ漁をしていた福積丸に、オーストラリア当局から海上保安庁を通じて漂流しているインドネシア漁船の救助要請がありました。

要請を断る船もある中、福積丸は間に合わないことも覚悟しながら悪天候の中、丸1日かけて約330kmを移動し、沈没しかけていたインドネシア漁船と救命ボートを見つけ乗組員20人全員を救助しました。

歓声を上げて喜んだ乗組員に、温かいものを食べさせたりお風呂に入ってもらったりしたということです。

第15福積丸・山崎清漁労長　「体も冷えているので、とにかく上がったらあったかいものでも飲ませてやれって、それを準備しといて、よかったんじゃないのみんな助かって。やっぱり何人かいないとなればあれだったけんど、みんな助かってよかった」

清水海上保安部の戸田陽一部長は「大しけの中漁を中断して救助したそのシーマンシップに感謝します」と話していました。
