八王子市民の9割「これからも八王子に住み続けたい！」

　東京都八王子市が市民を対象に実施した世論調査で、「市に住み続けたい」と回答した人が約９割に上り、市民の間で定住志向が強いことがわかった。

　市は昨年８～９月、無作為で選んだ市内在住の１８歳以上の５０００人を対象にアンケートを実施した。２７１５人（５４．３％）から回答が寄せられた。

　このうち、定住についての質問に関し、「住み続けたい」と答えた人が８９．９％と、「市外へ移りたい」の８．２％を大きく上回った。
住み続けたい理由は「緑が多く自然に恵まれている」（６６．０％）、「交通の便が良い」（３７．０％）、「買い物に便利」（３１．２％）が上位を占めた。

　逆に、市外に移りたい理由については「交通の便が悪い」（４３．５％）、「買い物に不便」（３４．１％）、「市外に住みたいまちがある」（３２．７％）が挙げられた。

　こうした結果について、市の担当者は「定住志向が強いが、市が広大なことから交通の便、買い物の利便性に格差感があることがわかる」と分析している。
