どう見てもガンダムですが…？　『F91』論争尽きぬ「ガンダムか否か問題」を読み解く

F91の何がファンの意見を二分するのか

　同じ作品のファンでも意見が分かれることはよくあります。
「ガンダム」シリーズで意見が分かれるといえば、
「F91はガンダムか否か」という問題について、
ネット上で議論されることが多いかもしれません。

「F91」は劇場アニメ『機動戦士ガンダムF91』の主役機であり、
作品タイトルにも「ガンダム」の名前が付いています。
しかしガンダムではないという意見の持ち主が、
世の中にはいるのです。それはなぜでしょうか。

　その理由は作中にあります。
F91を初めて見た連邦軍練習艦「スペース・アーク」の艦長代理「レアリー・エドベリ」が、
過去に活躍したMS（モビルスーツ）にあやかって、ガンダムと名付けるシーンがありました。
この部分を切り取ると、F91は正式にはガンダムではなかったと解釈できます。
そのためF91はガンダムではないという意見が噴出するのでしょう。
