熊が出没する地域に行って熊捕獲わなを運搬・設置するだけなので熊と戦うわけではないから銃は必要ない
万が一熊と遭遇した場合でも隊員は身体を鍛えているのでなんとかなると思う

自衛隊員は訓練で使い慣れている木銃なら熊と格闘になってもある程度は戦えるということらしい

撃たれたことのある熊は銃を持った猟師を恐れるようになるのでなんとかなる
むかしから軍事教練で使われきたし
