1年間で600超の信号機が撤去
実はいま、全国各地で信号機の撤去が進んでいる。
交通事故を防ぐために無くてはならないはずの信号機がなぜ減っているのか？
19年と言われる耐用年数を大きく超え、30年近く運用されていた静岡県沼津市内の信号機。
青や赤に光る部分の一部が欠け、その下を見てみるとかなりさび付いているのがわかる。
このように信号機や信号柱の老朽化を主な原因として、全国では2024年度に600を超える信号機が撤去された。
県警交通規制課の奥野仁 次席によると、県内には信号柱が約2万6000本あるものの「耐用年数を超えているものが約4割。現在、大量の更新期を迎えていて、老朽化に更新が追い付いていない」という。

うちの最寄り駅のすぐ側のでかい交差点にいつまでたっても信号設置されないのもそのせいか
タイパも考えると車の違反捕まえてチマチマ稼ぐより入れ喰いだろ
