【モスクワＡＦＰ時事】ロシアのプーチン大統領は９日、ピョートル大帝が１８世紀にスウェーデンとの戦争を
制し領土を拡大した歴史を引き合いに「（領土を）取り戻し強化することは、われわれの責務だ」と強調し、
ウクライナ侵攻を正当化した。大帝の生誕３５０年を記念する展覧会を訪れた際に語った。
プーチン氏は「皆さんは彼（大帝）が、スウェーデンとの戦争で何か奪ったという印象を抱いている。だが、
何も取っていない。取り戻したのだ」と主張した。また、大帝が首都としたサンクトペテルブルクについて
「欧州各国は当時、ロシア領ではなくスウェーデンの一部だと考えた。しかし、そこには太古の昔から
スラブ人も住んでいた」と述べた。
