19日午前6時50分ごろ、茨城県行方市、農業、男性(65)から「畑のタマネギが盗まれた」などと行方署に届け出があった。
同署が調べたところ、同市内の畑の一部が荒らされ、収穫直前のタマネギ約300キロ(時価計4万8千円相当)がなくなっていた。同署で窃盗事件として捜査している。

同署によると、盗まれたタマネギの品種は「ソニック」で、男性が18日午後3時ごろに確認した際は異常がなかった。男性の畑は約300平方メートルの広さで、このうち約8割でタマネギを栽培していた。
