陸上自衛隊のヘリコプター事故の原因の究明につながるフライトレコーダーが海での墜落などを想定した仕組みになっておらず、回収が困難になっていることがわかった。

防衛省関係者によると、航空自衛隊や海上自衛隊のヘリコプターのフライトレコーダーは機体の外側についていて、
海に墜落などした場合、自動的に浮き上がり、位置情報を発信するなど発見しやすい仕組みになっている。
一方、陸上自衛隊のヘリではもともと海での墜落が想定されておらず、そうした仕組みがない。
防衛省は18日、自民党の部会で、「軍事作戦において、洋上を飛行することを想定していない」と説明した。
フライトレコーダーが発見されない場合、事故原因の究明が困難になる恐れがある。
