堺市西区で４日午前、登校中の小学生の男児３人が車と接触したとされた事故で、
ひき逃げ事件として捜査していた大阪府警西堺署が事故は起きていなかったと判断したことが１０日、
同署への取材で分かった。３人のうち１人が転倒して軽傷を負っていたが、車とは無関係だった。
同署によると、走り去った車を特定して車体を調べたところ、男児らと接触した痕跡が一切ないことが確認された。
運転手も「現場を通る前に子供が転んでいるのを見た」という趣旨の説明をしており、同署は車は男児の転倒後に、
そばを通過しただけだったと結論付けた。
男児３人は４日午前、登校中に事故にあったと学校で申告。校長が１１０番し、同署がひき逃げ事件とみて捜査していた。
