鹿児島県奄美市名瀬の松田恵さん（59）が3日、瀬戸内町与路島南側の地磯で105・5センチ、16キロのハージン（スジアラ）を釣り、奄美磯釣連盟が認定するスジハタ部門の最高記録を4センチ、1・5キロ更新した。松田さんは驚きつつも「釣りは7割が運」と謙遜した。
釣り歴の長い松田さんはこの日、奄美を訪れていた友人の案内役として瀬渡しに同行。
午前8時ごろに糸を垂らすと、ハタ科のネバリとスワシンが立て続けに食い、間もなくハージンもヒット。強烈な引きに「サメか、アラかと大物を想像した」という。
リールが巻けないので糸を握って手繰り寄せ、ギャフもなかったのでたも網を駆使して引き揚げた。
「よく行く釣り場ではないが、このサイズが食うのはまれ。竿を投げた場所や時間帯が良かったんだと思う」と松田さん。釣果は飲食店を営む知り合いに譲った。
これまでの奄磯連認定スジハタ部門は、2人が昨年記録した101・5センチ、14・5キロのハージンが最高。松田さんは「記録は更新されるもの。自分はただ純粋に釣りが好きなだけ。これからも楽しみたい」と語った。
