米国のジョー・バイデン大統領がワルシャワで行った演説で新しい冷戦を宣言した。ポーランド紙「Rzeczpospolita」のインタビューで、同国のヤツェク・チャプトウィッチ元外相が明らかにした。
同氏によると、バイデン大統領のワルシャワ訪問は歴史的に重要な意味を持ったという。
元外相は、「王宮庭園での演説は、歴史の新しい章を開くものとなった。この中で米国大統領は新しい冷戦を宣言した」と語った。
チャプトウィッチ元外相は、バイデン大統領の演説を1946年のウィンストン・チャーチル元英国首相の「鉄のカーテン」についての演説と比較した。元外相は、演説会場とウクライナ人の存在も重要な意味をもったと考えている。同氏によれば、このことからポーランドは大きな役割を担うこととなったという。
