【シドニー共同】南太平洋ソロモン諸島で8日午前7時半（日本時間同5時半）ごろ、ガダルカナル島の戦いから80年の式典に参加していた海上自衛官の男性が、ソロモン人の男に刃物のようなもので襲われ、首に軽傷を負った。在ソロモン日本大使館が明らかにした。
男は自衛官に後ろから近づき、押し倒したという。すぐに周囲にいた人が取り押さえ、警察に突き出した。動機などは不明。
この式典はソロモン政府主催で、鬼木誠防衛副大臣やシャーマン米国務副長官、ケネディ駐オーストラリア米大使ら各国高官も参加していた。
