山口県阿武町が、新型コロナの給付金4630万円を誤って1つの世帯に振り込んだ問題です。花田憲彦町長は22日会見を開き、受け取った町民が返す意思を示さなかったことを明らかにしました。

この問題は、1世帯当たり10万円の新型コロナの給付金を、今月8日に町が誤って申請された463世帯分の総額にあたる4630万円を、1世帯に振り込んだものです。
町によると、この町民は職員の面会に「別の金融機関の口座に移した」と話
しており、「もう元には戻せない。逃げることはしない。罪は償う」などとして、返す意思を示さなかったと明らかにしました。「借金の返済には充てていない」と説明したということですが、町では金を使ったかどうかや、何に使ったか、いくら残っているかなど、金の流れはつかめていないということです。
町は電話やメールで連絡し、自宅や職場にも行きましたが、会えない状況が続き、きのう面談できたということです。
振り込みのミスは、職員が事務処理中システム操作を誤ったことが原因で、この町民の世帯を含む対象の全世帯には別に10万円が振り込まれています。
町は警察や弁護士に相談していて、今後告訴も視野に対応を検討する考えです。
