株式会社ウェザーニューズは、トンガ諸島付近で発生した大規模な火山噴火の影響とみられる急激な気圧変化について、日本全国約3,000カ所に設置した独自の気象観測機「ソラテナ」が高密度に観測していることを確認した。噴火の「空振」による気圧変化とみられる。また、噴火した際の15日の「空振」に加えて、17日にも再度観測されていることから、「空振」は地球を一周して再び気圧変化が日本に再来したと見られている。
「空振」を観測
「ソラテナ」は、1月15日13時頃にトンガ諸島周辺のフンガトンガ・フンガハアパイで大規模な噴火が発生した影響による一時的な気圧変化を日本全国で観測した。また、15日20時頃に「ソラテナ」が観測した気圧変化は、15日の噴火に伴う衝撃波「空振」によるものとみられる。
