内閣府男女共同参画局による、男性の家事参加を促す「“おとう飯（はん）”始めよう」キャンペーンが、ネット上で議論を呼んでいる。このキャンペーンに込められた思いとはどういったものなのか。政府広報室に聞いた。
ツイッター上で拡散した画像には、「これまで料理なんかできないと思っていたあなた、立派な料理を作らなければいけないと思っていたあなた。いいんです。“おとう飯”ならいいんです！」「簡単に、手間を掛けず、多少見た目が悪くても美味しければ、それが“おとう飯”」という「おとう飯」の定義の説明や、「おとう飯（はん）の心得」として「手早く」「簡単に」「後片付けは最後まで」などの項目とともに「おとう飯、見守っててね、おかあはん」というメッセージが並んでいる。
