10台に1台は任意保険未加入

　この国の自動車は10台に1台の確率で、任意保険（自動車共済含む）に入っていない。筆者（日野百草、ノンフィクション作家）は恐ろしい数だと思う。「たった10%」とは思えない。

　本稿では任意保険に入っていない車を便宜上「未加入車」とするが、こうした未加入車との遭遇率は「たった10%」ではなく、「10%も」と考えるべきだろう。任意保険に入らないユーザーが10%もいる現実、ちなみにバイク（原付除く）に至っては2台に1台、約50%が任意保険に入っていない。

　原付に至っては約70%も未加入だが、こちらはファミリーバイク特約分も入れればもう少し下がるだろう。ともあれ、そもそも車だバイクだ関係なく、任意保険未加入で乗るなど想像するだけでも恐ろしい。
