自衛隊に迫る「静かな有事」、少子化で採用難

自衛隊の定員２４万７１５４人（２０１７年３月３１日現在）に対し現員は２２万４４２２人で、充足率は９０．８％。
内訳では幹部自衛官の方が充足率が高く、「士」と呼ばれる一番下の階級では７３．７％にとどまっている。

軍事組織とジェンダーに関する著書のある佐藤文香・一橋大学大学院教授は、自衛隊の募集対象年齢引き上げは
「危機感の表れと受け止めて間違いない」とした上で、階級の低い、若い自衛官の充足率が低いことが問題だと指摘する。
