未成年の少女らが全裸で雨乞いの儀式、インドの村で今年も執りおこなわれる
インド中央部マディヤ・プラデーシュ州の村で、
今年も伝統的な雨乞いの儀式が執りおこなわれ、インド中を騒がせている。
「マディヤ・プラデーシュ州で奇妙な雨乞いの儀式は珍しくもないが、
この儀式はおぞましさと紙一重だ」と報じたのは、「タイムズ・オブ・インディア」だ。
同紙によれば、ダモー地区にあるこの村では、未成年の少女たちが裸で、重い木の棒を担いで行進することが雨の神々を喜ばせると信じられている。
モンスーンの季節が終わりに近づき、干ばつが忍び寄るなかで村人たちは必死で神頼みをするのだ。
SNS上ではこの儀式の様子を撮影した動画もいくつか共有されているという。
