　富士山の山梨県側の麓と５合目を結ぶ富士山登山鉄道構想の実現可能性を議論してきた県の検討会（会長・御手洗冨士夫経団連名誉会長）の総会が８日午後４時から国会内で開かれる。
既設の有料道路「富士スバルライン」に次世代型路面電車（ＬＲＴ）を走らせる構想を了承する見通しだ。

　富士山は２０１３（平成２５）年に世界文化遺産に登録される際、国連教育科学文化機関（ユネスコ）から来訪者抑制の必要性や排ガスへの懸念が指摘された。

　これに応え、構想は「自動車から登山鉄道への転換」を打ち出し、ルートは新たな開発が不要なスバルラインの利用が最も優位性が高いとした。緊急車両など以外の車の通行を禁止する。

　事業主体は民間を想定。往復運賃を１万円とした場合、年間約３００万人の利用を見込んでいる。山梨県は今後、静岡県などに報告した上でユネスコの了承を得る方針だ。
