埼玉県川越市は２４日、土地の評価方法の誤りが原因で固定資産税と都市計画税の課税ミスがあり、１６９万円あまりを返還すると発表した。
市資産税課によると、土地の評価方法の誤りは３月に課内で今年度の評価作業をしている中で発覚。評価する土地に接していない路線の路線価を基に税額を算出し、徴収していたという。ほかにも同様の誤りがないか市内全域を調査したところ、１９９６～２０２１年度に計１８人から過徴収していたことが判明。うち、地方税法や市の返還金取扱要綱に基づき、０２～２１年度分の返還を決めた。対象者は１６人で、返還金額は利息などを含めて計１６９万３３００円。
９６～０１年度に計１万千円を過徴収した残る２人については、法律などに根拠となる規定がないため返還せず、本人に課税ミスがあったことを通知して理解を求める予定。
また、１０人の評価税額が実際よりも低かったことも判明した。法律では５年前までさかのぼり徴収可能だが、市側のミスが原因のため、市は１７～２１年度の不足額計１８万４５００円を請求しないとしている。
