Microsoft、クラウド版Windows「Windows 365 Cloud PC」を発表。8月2日提供開始

米Microsoftは7月14日（現地時間）、クラウド版Windows「Windows 365」を発表した。Mac、iPad、Android、Linuxなど（iPhoneとChrome OSは明示されていない）のWebブラウザで「Windows 10」と（リリース後の）「Windows 11」の機能を使える企業向けの新サブスクリプションサービスだ。8月2日に日本を含む世界で提供を開始する。

Microsoftによる説明は「Windowsでお使いのアプリ、コンテンツ、設定を安全にMicrosoftクラウドから任意のデバイスへストリーミングします」となっている。

これまでもリモートでWindows環境を使う方法として仮想デスクトップサービスがあったが、「Windows 365は、様々な理由で仮想化を実現できなかった組織に、本当に大きな違いを生むだろう」とMicrosoft 365のジェネラルマネジャー、ワングイ・マッケルビー氏は語った…
