５日午前９時４５分ごろ、神戸市灘区琵琶町２の民家に乗用車が突っ込んでいる、と通行人から１１０番があった。
兵庫県警灘署によると、運転していた近くの無職男性（８３）が搬送先の病院で死亡した。
民家に住民は不在で、他にけが人はいなかった。
同署によると、車は信号機のない交差点を進んだ後、民家に突っ込んだという。
ブロック塀や外壁を突き破り、室内まで入っていた。事故直前、かなりのスピードが出ていたとみられ、
ブレーキをかけずに民家に衝突したとの目撃情報もあるという。同署が原因を調べている。
現場近くに住む男性（６３）は「猛スピードで車が走る音の後、大きな衝突音がした」と驚いていた。
現場はＪＲ六甲道駅の南西約２００メートルにある住宅街。
