結婚相談所で長らく仲人として未婚男女の婚活をサポートしてこられた方の話によれば、10年ほど前は男性会員の方が多く、男女比は「男：女＝６：４」だったそうです。
当時は婚活市場全体を見ても男性過多で、女性側は待っていればお見合いのお申し込みが集まる状況でした。
しかし現在は、男女比が逆転して女性過多の状況です。
比率で言うと、
男：女＝４：６
男：女＝３：７
くらいまで差が広がっています。
結婚相談所に限らず、婚活パーティーや街コンなどの婚活イベントでも、女性過多の現象が起きています。
